Industrial fasteners can be found in three main sizing standards: ASTM (the American Society for Testing and Materials), SAE (the Society of Automotive Engineers), and ISO (the International Organization for Standards). Each recommends its own system of measuring and manufacturing fasteners. None are better than any of the others, just depending on what job you are doing.
